Hosting school visits
VIP days: opportunities for young people and teachers to understand your industry
VIP (visiting industry professionals) days are run by our Careers Hub to support young people with meaningful experiences of the workplace, and supports schools with meeting Gatsby Benchmark 6 (part of the national framework for creating excellent careers education and experience.)
We partner with multiple employers to coordinate school visits to their office/site. This is for approximately 15-30 students, giving them the opportunity to explore working environments, meet with professionals, learn about the different roles and career pathways within the organisation.
VIP days can be tailored to fit with the modern work experience programme.
If you would like to host a VIP day, please talk to our team. We'd be delighted to support you.
Watch our short film about Pret's hospitality VIP day
Hosting VIP (visiting industry professionals) days are fantastic opportunities for employers from different industries to showcase the wealth of roles in their organisation to groups of students from different schools.
In this short film hear about an inspiring VIP day organised for students from four schools in partnership with Pret-a-Manger and guest employers from Pizza Pilgrims, Lifetime Training and Meliá Hotels.
The students were mixed into smaller groups that rotated around the employer sessions throughout the day to give every student the same opportunity to engage with each employer. With a variety of hands on activities and presentations on different routes into work (including apprenticeships, training programmes, or progression within businesses) the experience was valuable and well-rounded for students and staff alike.
